What scope for a Magnum Research Magnumlite .22 wmr?

I wanted a really lightweight 22 mag for my wife and daughters to shoot groundhogs with and finally found a Magnum Research with the Hogue stock and carbon wrapped barrel. Now, I'm trying to decide on a scope. They like magnification, so I'm thinking something in the 4-12 or 4-16 range. 40mm objective will be plenty. I'd like to keep the weight down since the rifle is so lightweight.

What scope would you use? I've read good things about the Muellers, but I've never even seen one in person to compare them against my Leupolds and Nikons.
