What should I offer for this complete lower?

My friend is selling a new lower with the following specs:

S&W M&P lower, cmmg parts kit, magpul moe grip, magpul milspec six position stock, magpul trigger guard. The magpul parts are tan if that makes a difference.

He wants me to make an offer on it and I have no idea how to ball park it given the current conditions on finding AR's and parts. Anyone have an idea? Thanks.

Yep. Never make an offer. The seller should know the market- that is "due diligence." Ask him what he wants for it. If you judge that price fair then buy. If not then negotiate. This is where you should have done your due diligence too. Gunbroker is a good gauge of "current market" value. However, online listings for comparable- yet backordered- products are a better gauge of recent "sustainable" prices.

I saw a "house branded" complete lower at a local shop listed at $749. It had a mil spec trigger, stock handgrip, and run-of-the-mill collapsible stock. This may be market but I do not see it as sustainable.

I didn't know they sold M&P stripped lowers? News to me.

Before the craze an LMT basic, complete AR lower went for ~$330. Quality basic lower, known quantity. What you listed (parts gun + Magpul "upgrades") would have been a similar price.

Everything has doubled in price on GBroker. He could probably get $500 minimum for it now.

If it was a friend the price would still be $300. If he wants $500 he needs to tell you. Just be honest with him and say you don't know the worth of it.

Yes they do. I bought one before the craze. They ran about $160.

Offer him $300 and see what he says.
