I am looking to mount a Harris bipod on my Savage F/TR and I am trying to figure out what rail adapter I need. Harris makes a 5/16" adapter for American styled rails and a 3/8" for European rails.

I measured the accessory rail and it is 1/2". Will the 3/8" work in this bipod rail or will I need to find another brand that offers a 1/2" adapter.

Thanks!

sharpshootersupply has a bipod boss that I think will fit. It's under accessories on the top left of the page. Email them first, I'm sure they will know if it will fit the ftr, or can tell you the ftr rail size.

My F/TR came with a sling stud that slid into the channel, via which you can attach a harris bipod. Failing that, the bipod boss also works. Just be advised that with a leverloc on your Harris, you have to position the bipod boss backwords and won't be able to make use of the additional sling stud. For prone shoot only, not a problem (and you don't really plan on lugging your F/TR around by a sling anyways, right?).
