what stock should i get?

building a savage 260
budget, less then 250$ for the stock


i have this now for my 223

i LOVE the feel of the choate and the bedding block is top notch... but its heavy..

i only shoot prone , so this style grip is the most comfortable for me.

what im looking at this,

I hear it alot, but, buy once and cry once. Get a manners or a McMillian. I have the A5 and love it. Watch the for sale section, there will be one come across at a die net price.JMO

If you want a composite stock it’s hard to beat a manners or McMillian unless you decide to go with a chassis system. In the price range if I was you I would get a nice laminated stock. I have a Russo A2 style stock I like but it’s on a single shot 6mm BR.

+1 for buy once and cry once. I tried to save a few bucks on the stock building my first 308...now the stock is for sale and I am ordering a manners T2A. buying an B&C wont save much weight either. Mine is the A5 and its pretty heavy.
