The biggest issue with ammo I find is the bullet construction. Even at 100 yards a 55 fmj 223 is making little pock marks. Not much, but it’s something. At 20 yards someone shot a plate and with a 140 fmj 308 and took a nice fingernail sized crater out. The 308 was what I expected after finding out, the 223 surprised me. My good bullets don’t mess them up at that distance, even my 3006, but the fmj seems to be a real pain in the ass. I wouldn’t shoot them close with bulk crap ammo personally.
