What the heck is Noveske using??

Re: What the heck is Noveske using??

be careful...I would shoot the barrel to the point it was hot and then try to pop it loose with a wrench....but then again that still freaks me out that it would be on there that tight.....

Re: What the heck is Noveske using??

i had the same issue when i bought my last upper from them.... basically it took some foam rubber, a big ass vise, a crescent wrench, a 3 foot long cheater bar and another guy holding the upper to get the Vortex FH off. after we got it off i checked the threads for gunk and whatnot and found nothing, it was just torqued on.

Re: What the heck is Noveske using??

Just wanted to make sure they didn't use something like Rocksett, before I start cranking on it. I always thought that Smith Vortex flash suppressors didn't need to be torqued; that they were self tightening.

This has always worked for me.

Re: What the heck is Noveske using??

Thanks fellas, I got it off, I just had to use a breaker bar and the torch. By the way I have this flash suppressor listed for sale now in the options section. Check it out.

This may be a DUMB answer, but why not call John Noveske and ask. John is a super guy to deal with. I don't have any Noveske parts/rifles yet, but after sitting in a class with him, I will support him and him alone in the AR department.

Because it is a weekend and they are closed. And, if you read my last post, I was able to pop it off, turns out they are just torquing their Vortex Flash Suppressors in place.
