What the hell is this???

Re: What the hell is this???

The article quotes;

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">The FBI has placed a bid for two Anzios:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source purchase order to Anzio Ironworks Corporation, 1905 16th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 for two (2) Magfed 20mm Rifles and accessories in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The FBI intends to procure the following items:

<span style="font-weight: bold">Magfed 20mm Rifle <span style="text-decoration: underline">with Belgian Camo </span>Overcoat finish. Includes bipod, brake, handguard, free floated barrel and case (Qty: 1 each)</span>
Magfed 20mm Rifle with Navy NWV Camo Duracoat finish. Includes bipod, brake, handguard, free floated barrel and case (Qty: 1 each)

Non-firing bolt assemblies (Qty: 2 each)

Extra magazines (Qty: 4 each)

Suppressors in 20mm (Qty: 2 each)

Two is not an arsenal, but one has to wonder why the FBI thinks it needs such firepower, especially such firepower with a suppressor (in other words, a silencer).

Is America’s political police force planning for combat?

Perhaps it's Belgians who should be alarmed by this development.

LOL, come to think of it, I think they should be standard issue at home depots everywhere.

Re: What the hell is this???

20mm made by Anzio Iron Works, good article about it in current issue of SW.
They are getting a them due to their new tasking in the war on terror. They ordered the silenced rifles, approx 7' 1" long with suppressor, and weigh about 110 lbs.

Same mag also has article on the BATFE training with 3-gun master level instructors.

Re: What the hell is this???

First time the media reports that a US citizen was shot with a 20mm sniper rifle (and they are still looking for the body) - it's all over..

Personally they should have skipped 20mm and gone straight to 30mm, then they could use Apache rounds LOL

Yeah but the problem is you would have to take out the transport first to afford rifle and ammo.
