What to do with CA 300prc

Last year I stumbled across a really good deal on a Christiansen ELR in 300 PRC, I picked it up, threw a geniii razor HD on it and ordered a bunch of ammo. It was some time before I had time to shoot it, when I did I threw a Nomad L can on the end and took it to the range, first 2 shots were fine, 3-5 shots the bolt got increasingly harder to lift.

Now I know CA isn’t really looked at too favorably these days, seems like they’ve had a lot of QC issues, figure mine may have a tight chamber. Would there be any reason I couldn’t send the barreled action to someone and have the CF barrel trashed for a thicker steel barrel and throw it in a chassis or would I be better off starting fresh with a new action? I don’t want to say money isn’t a concern but I don’t mind spending money on quality stuff. I don’t know enough about the precision rifle game yet to make the decision so I figured I would ask here. I appreciate any input!!

Have you reached out to CA?
I had an MPR that the joint on the folding stock began to have just a tiny amount of play. Called them. They emailed a prepaid shipping label w/ RMA. Had it back to me within 2 weeks or less AND replaced the CF barrel stating it wasn’t up to their accuracy standards. It shot 1” ten shot groups w/ my loads when I mailed it off. Now sub MOA. That was 4-5 years ago so ymmv.

Wow db2000 that’s very impressive, I have not reached out to them, I figured since I’m not the original owner they wouldn’t be inclined to help me, previous guy claimed it has 160rnds down the pipe but the rifle does have some light wear and tear, I’ll email them and see what they say, can’t hurt to try I suppose.

Maurygold ok, is the action itself that bad? If I have it rebarreled and throw it in a chassis wouldn’t that eliminate most of the issues? I’m not being a smartass I really don’t know, in my mind the action feeds and while it’s not ‘glass bearings’ smooth it’s not terrible either? I appreciate the input guys!
