I can not for the life of me decide on which way to go on a new build. I’m going to have a 300 PRC and a 224 Valkyrie both put together. Both on origin actions, both (most likely) in a krg Bravo. For my budget it’ll have to be one or the other to start. I want the 300 to be able to reach out to 2000 yards and then some. But I want the Valkyrie for a light recoiling bolt gun for my son. Considering my son just had his first birthday on October 15th (feels like it was last night we were going to the hospital to have him. It really does go fast!) I’m leaning hard towards the 300 prc. Being he has years before he gets into any centerfire rifles. He’s already got a single shot cricket .22 and Ruger Precision rimfire waiting for him. But one reason to get the Valkyrie done now, is for the wife. I’ve got a 6.5 creed, 6mm Creed couple 308s that all have too much recoil for her. The 223 rem 700 I have she likes and shoots well. Just can’t get enough out of it. It’s a 20” barrel sps. She has no interest in competition or even hunting. She just likes our range trips together, and wants to be able to reach out a little farther with less recoil. I know this kind of silly, but what you guys go with first? The builds would most likely be a year apart.
