What to expect? Armalite AR-10 stock to upgrade

For 1300.00 My local shop has an Armalite AR-10. Now this is the stock gun with the Green funiture. If I get it The first thing would be to put on an Badger Forend..then upgrade from there on out untill the barrel is burned out and I get a new one. I had one at one time and it was accurate as hell but it was a Armalite/Eagle upper without muzzle break, sadly I let it go. It would stack the 175s on what ever I put the cross hairs on. Now I totally understand that its not custom so I'm not expecting to put some new goodies on it and then have a 5 shot 1/2 moa rifle, just want to know if anyone else has taken this route with an AR-10. OH one more thing...Armalite...I really like them...DPMS..not as much so I'm no matter what sticking with the Armalite as my platform. Thanks for your time.

I did the same thing, started with an Armalite AR10A4, added full floating hand guard and a few other mods, wanted to shoot the A2 butt stock before I decide whether to replace it or not, not happy with it I think I'm gonna go with a magpul PRS but wanna shoot one first before I drop the money. I'll shoot this barrel for a few years before I replace it it dose OK, 1 MOA and have only shoot 160 rounds through it so far, then I want to get a Noveske barrel, price is around 650.00 with the dark coating then I might be finished building it and just shoot it, I still have the Remington 700 and my 03A4 clone to build up too. Never finished with the stuff. Also, I like this picture, notice the four leaf clover by the magazine? I didn't until I downloaded the picture, guess I'll call this rife "Lucky" now. I hope she holds to her name.

Nice ArmyDog...Yeah I see the clover thats cool. Is that an Armalite quadrail? And what are you shooting through it...168s, 175s? Mines got the Green stock and forend. I will replace both by the time I'm done. I think you will like the PSR stocks, I've shot them and they work great. I am going with a Badger tactical forend. There like 180 out of midway usa. I like the quads but don't really want a lot on my forend except an bipod.

If I had an armalite pattern 308 I'd probably get armalite brand handguards, IIRC 762sass.com has the SASS and National Match ones for 200-250$.

Yep, its an Armalite hand guard, I installed it, nothing to it, I think I spent 235.00 from Armalite. You may like the Badger better, this has a lot of weight hanging off the front, its hard to shoot off hand. I was shooting 168 SMK hand loads when I zeroed it, to get it close then switched to Federal Match 168 SMK's, but I got my best groups with 175 SMK's with 44gr Varget, Win Large Mag Rifle Primers, and New Rem Brass. Has a Bushnell 4200 Tactical Scope, I like it, After I get the new stock I may change out the trigger, put the old one in my AR15A2. I get back home and shoot it more I may do better we'll have to see.
