Hey guys,
is there any test routine which should be done, if I want to test a scope, which I´m wanting to buy.

Probably I get a scope to view.
But I can´t compare it to competitors, so I would have to do some testing to be able to compare it later to others.

What would you recommend to me, or is there already a "scope test" which I could follow?

Ok, might be not easy to do the tracking test w/o mounting it.
Over here, if you mount it, it is yours. ;)
I will see how I can do this.

The yellow highlighter on white paper sounds very interesting.
Thank you.

Testing usually includes : Fit, form and function. Without mounting function ( tracking ) is difficult unless you have a device like some folks have created. Form and fit are easier as its optical quality such as the highlighter test, how turrets feel when you turn them, knob tension etc is all doable at the counter to some extent. Once you mount it...tall target and box tests are always good and commonly accepted testing methods.

Thank you bf,
I will think about that.

Maybe I can build some rest and fix the scope without mounting it.
I will search a bit for that.

And of course the fit and finish, handling. arrangement, and last but not least, feeling, will be important.
