Sure wish i could find a gunsmith +/or AR company that would pick up the slack and start making some of the old DPMS VLD Magazines again. Sure is a great system for the long-range varminter types. Here's a couple pics. 2nd 1 is the OAL VLD magazine with the 75 A-Max--

I agree. To really maximize the potential or the AR/.223 platform, you need similar oal's to a bolt gun. With those old VLD mags, you could conceivably run head to head with a bolt gun and have the autoload to boot. Makes a lot of sense. Especially when we're talking taking a 20 round mag down to 10 or so is still being quite handy. The elusive search for a more effective lead dispenser continues...

Steve your lucky I didn't get your vld mag last year instead of your box of ammo,there may have been a different outcome

I called and talked to someone named Eric I believe. I think he may have said that there was some talk of this at one time, but that is as far as it got. Maybe a few more calls/emails.
