Re: What will Bushnell replace the current 4200 with ?
There will be a new line of "Elite" riflescopes. The Elite Riflescope line will be fully multi-coated with a new UWB coating that allows 95% light transmission across more of the visiible light spectrum. If you look at light transmission rates now, usually you are given the "peak" rate at between 540-560nm, because that is the range(green light) that is viewed best by the human eye. What the UWB coating does is flatten/widen that peak from about 440nm to 680nm(human eye can see roughly from 380nm to 750nm). That translates to more light back to the eye at the most critical of times. All of the Elite riflescopes will also now be Argon purged.
There will also be an Elite Tactical line with the same features as are in the Elite Riflescope line. FMC, UWB coating and Argon purged. The configurations will remain the same as what is currently being offered, however there will be an elevation increase in the 6-24s, 3-12, 2.5-16 and 4.5-30. There have been preliminary specs done, which requested and showed a 2X incresase, but are just waiting to release final specs until they can spec off-line production.
4200 and 3200 will go away. There will be Elite 6500, Elite Tactical, Elite Riflescopes and Elite Handgun in 2011.
