Looking to get another Rem. 700SA turned into something else. I've got .308's. Looking for something different. Wildcat? 6mmBR? 260? Thought about making it a single shot in 6mm-.284, like I did my 6.5-.284...My range here at the house is maxed out @ 300 yds. I have access to 1000 yds. but haven't gotten that far out, yet. I'll shoot the hell out of it and hunt deer with it on occasion. All ideas welcome.

Well first of all how does the factory rifle shoot? my current 700 remmy in 243(factory action and barrel) will put 5 inside of 1.2" @ 250 yds with 90gr scenars and 100gr SGK. If she'll do that well wait til its shot out then rebarrel with a 26" 1 in 7 twist 6mm and chamber it in 243AI or even 243Win. With the 105, 107 and 115 grain bullets you cant do any better in a short action (unless you have a magnum IE.. 300RSAUM, 7mmRSAUM).

The 6.5x47Lapua was built specifically for 300M competitions and has already won more than its share of events. Among the many other fine cartridges, I'm sure you'd be real happy with this one.
