I'm having a 375 cheytac built and have a few months to decide on a optic for it. Was wondering what others are using with good results, pics would be grat also. Thanks

Nightforce 5.5-22x56. Allowed us to make multiple hits at 2000 yards with a few different Chey Tacs.

The S&B 5-25 would be my other choice.

Will all the scopes listed above have enough moa windage and elevation adjustment along with a 40 moa rail added for the distance capability of the 375 cheytac?

Re: What's a good optic for the 375/408 cheytac

Yes. The two I mentioned both have 100 MOA of elevation and the NF has 60 MOA of wind. Not sure on the S&B. If I remeber correctly it took us about 75 MOA or so to get to 2000 yards with the 408 and I believe the 375 shoots a little flatter so you have plenty of elevation with a 40 MOA base.

Why? There's nothing streamlined / low drag about that beast, why not take advantage of a bigger objective.

We were shooting on a target that was about 1 MOA at that range and we had the scope on 18x and had no problems seeing the target and hitting it. I really liked the 5.5-22 and have one waiting for my 300WM which is being built now. I think the optical clarity is very good. We could actually see farther without a problem but the 2500 yard target had been knocked down a couple weeks prior to our trip to Arco.

Jrose, What great advantages comes with anything larger than a 56 objective? My rifle will be used to shoot steel plate in the daytime. I don't plan on hunting with the rig so light gathering is not needed.

Re: What's a good optic for the 375/408 cheytac

Larger FOV, higher resolution, better light gathering (brighter). Even if you don't plan on shooting in low light, you never now how early or late you might find yourself out, or just maybe heavy dark clouds roll in...

I have 58mm obj on all my USO's and have zero regrets.

I'm really suprised that Premier Heritage has not been listed in the top 3. Any reason to rule them out? If the nightforce is as comparable to the others the savings might be worth it.

I would recommend the 5.5-22 as with the higher powers in the NF line you start to lose elevation which is more critical in a rifle like the Chey Tac than more power as you can see fine with 22x out to as far as the rifle will shoot.

Just run the Nightforce 20MOA mount also.
