Hiders,

In all seriousness. I know next to nothing about these.

These are the 4-16x50 Falcon, FFP, steel tube, 1/10 mil knobs, illuminated H25 reticle, 2006 production. I can't even find them on ebay. Very little on the web. Any comments or opinions (price new?) would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Scott

They're only worth $100 unfortunately. But since you're probably got one or more on your hands I'll help a brother out and give you $105 for one.

From what I understand Scott is that on the Falcon or any of the Horus scopes for that matter is the features. People that I have communicated with on these particular scopes got several complaints on glass clarity. They sell the rectile and features and put mediocre glass in them. Why would anybody considered these over Nightforce at that price point? Ive seen Horus scopes go for half of what they are worth here on the Hide.

Again this is all hearsay for I personally have not looked through one myself but asked questions about them when I first joined up here on the Hide with those kind of responses above.

The glass on all my Horus scopes are certainly acceptable.I won a stage at a tactical match because I could distinguish numbers and harts, clubs, diamonds, spades on 1"x1.5" printed playing cards at 100Y.There were pretty much all the top optics being used at the match that day.

I concede that the glass is not as nice as my NF but just by a hair.

Everyones eyes are different. The responses I got from people on here detered me away from purchasing one. Im glad you enjoy yours. One of the responses I got was the glass is no where near the quality and resolution of an NF. Re: What's a mint used Horus Falcon worth?

I actually have a couple. For the reticle. The glass is OK, as good as leopold, not as good as the NF, Ziess or USO scopes. Or Swarovski for that matter either. Don't own a S&B, can't comment.

What is NOT as good, is the coating on the lenses. Glare on the two I own is tough, shooting west in the afternoons. I have been wanting to play with a shade, or something to make it better, but it ain't fun till then. Same shot, different scope, much less glare.

For the reticle, and quick 2nd/3rd shots, it is unbeatable. With a spotter, using a spotting scope with a mil grid, better yet.

FWIW, I got mine for about 750 bucks, NIB, from a dealer who hated the Horus service, they stuck him a couple times.

And have a HF F1 on order with the H-grid..... mo bettah.
