I've got a Remington SA 700 .308 26" barrel that I'm trying to sell. It's been a few days, and I haven't really gotten any real interest in it as of right now. It's a great shooter, but I'm building something else, and this is a part of the collection that I feel like I can part with. Below is what I'm selling. I was asking $1k shipped for the entire package.

Magpul FDE Hunter Stock
Magpul Magwell
4 - 10rd Magpul Mags
2 - 5rd Magpul Mags
Talley 30mm 20 MOA Rings
Timney Calvin Elite 2 Stage Trigger
Harris BRM 6"-9" Bipod

I don think you're out of bounds you're asking price but I suggest you split it up if you want top dollar. Will probably move much faster than someone looking for a turn key setup.

I would be happy if I could get 600 bucks for that.

i saw that list and picture, without looking at his asking price and said "Thats a $600 rifle."

sorry to the owner, but essentially a factory Remington with a Timney trigger and no muzzle threads. the other doo-dads dont really add much to the value of that rifle.

parting out is the best bang for the buck for the seller.

    Please elaborate.
How I suspect SH sees this:

    .308.....box is checked.

Magpul FDE Hunter Stock- meh, Not Mcmillian, manners
    Magpul Magwell- meh, not Surgeon
4 - 10rd Magpul Mags- meh, not AI
2 - 5rd Magpul Mags- meh, see above
Talley 30mm 20 MOA Rings- ummm cool?
Timney Calvin Elite 2 Stage Trigger- comp trigger on hunting gun?
Harris BRM 6"-9" Bipod- good nuff, stopped being cool

I’d give you $500 cash today, toss it in my truck and treat it like crap. For $1,000 I can buy new tires and have a lot of fun

Again MY assessment. No it’s not worthless, but $1,000 is still a lot of money too me and that rifle isn’t a lot of rifle.

Its a 300 dollar barreled action in a 200 dollar stock with a... well I did miss the CE and had 510 in mind so add another 100 to it for the better trigger. So 600+100=the 700 futch said above is what I would be pleased with.
The bipod and mags and rings dont do anything for me if I have to pay extra for it and I doubt youll get too much extra for them thrown in with the rest of it. Part it all out separate and youll make more money for that stuff but it will also be more hassle.

    Part it out.
I'm guessing it's an RR, but you might be able to squeeze a few more shekels out of the barreled action depending on the S/N prefix.

My plan was to use it as a jumping off point into precision shooting. Eventually I knew that at some point most, or all of it was never going to be what I originally purchased. I started with the trigger, and was kind of going from there since I got the rifle with the stock already. I don't have the notion that this is a special rifle in any way at all, I wanted something to get me started in it. I looked at GB at some of the sold listings for comps on something similar, and wasn't really able to find anything that was a one for one example of what I have currently. I'm not trying to get rich off of it, I'm just trying to ask what a fair price would be for it from guys that are much deeper in this pool than I am. I appreciate the info

Look in the buy/sell threads (here) if buying used. Lots of options if you have a little patience. (unless your looking for an impact 6br)

FWIW I had a R700 in 7mm mag that I had the barrel threaded on and a muzzle brake installed, the same magpul stock, the magazine for it, and a 20moa rail. 700 is what I gave for it, got 900 out of it in a trade. So 700 is a realistic expectation. I hope you find a buyer man!

No judgement here. I was trying to give you my best impression of what might be taking place. I’ve got a similar rifle. I’ve got a crappier rifle.

I keep mine around to let friends shoot and sometimes I just feel like shooting my “crappy” rifle.

I’d hang on to it if the budget allowed. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Keep a .308 in the rotation, for all the right reasons.

I appreciate the input, it’s helpful to get thoughts from guys who are on the outside of situation to make sure expectations don’t get too high.

It’s gonna get replaced with another .308, so I’ll definitely have one in its place for the near future. I’m working on getting a PSG-1 clone built, once the parts show up I’ll be sending them off again to have it assembled for me.

I’ll get another bolt gun eventually, but not right away.

It looks like a nice setup but I’d agree that it’s in the 600-700 range. Try to sell it locally to maximize your gains and save on shipping fees
