Rifle Scopes Whats on the horizon for Rangefinding Binos?

I have tried both the Zeiss and Bushnell Fusion LRF binos, and have not been satisfied with the display in either one. They just seem to wash out too easily in bright daylight. The Bushnell was the better of the two and the one that I still have but of course the glass is lacking when compared to the Zeiss and given the price difference is expected.

I find it strange that you can buy a 50 dollar BSA rifle scope with about 27 different select-able illumination colors but not on a $3000 pair of binoculars.

Does anyone know of a soon to be released pair of LRF binos with blue display? Or better yet a display that is selectable between black during daytime and red or some other color at dusk/dawn/lowlight conditions? Doesn't seem like too much to ask for the price of some of these LRF's at almost $3,000.

Everything is a compromise !

In this situation the compromise is a clear and easy to see readout versus light transmission/optical performance.

You might like the Leica Geovids. They have a very clear readout but do not transmit as much light as the Swaro RF bino's for example.

Pick which is more important to you and pays your money.

By the way, comparing Bushnell Fusions against any of the top Euro brands is not really fair. Bushnell glass is a bucket of shit compared to Swaro, Leica etc. Awesome RF abilities for the price though.

I certainly realize the difference between Zeiss and Bushnell, see the part where I said it was expected given the price difference? I have test driven the Leica also and the display is rubbish also in bright daylight.

I have the Fusion 1600's. They "work", but that's about all I can say for them. My bitch is the glass. It's horrible. Has a bad green/blue tint to it. I have no complaints with the rangefinder itself. It's worked great for me out to 1200-1300 yds which is the fartherest I've used it.

I really liked the the new Zeiss LRF binos, but when i seen the price, I decided to just keep my Fusions. If I need glass that good, I'll look through my scope.

I use the Leupold RFB-whatevers and the unit didnt make it one week before it shorted out inside and failed. Read alot of similar concerns about them on different forums, and decided that for $900, they should work right, be able to range past 350 yrds (mine dont) and give you a handjob while in the prone. Fail on all three. Good news is, Leupold is going to fix them. Although, I'll probably get them back in a week with a note that says, "Tested, passed. No problems, must be user error."

The Fusions have worked well as far as function and reliability. I've used the shit out of them. Hunted with them all last year and shoot matches with them. They've been rolled around in the sand, dropped, hauled in my pack, rode on the quad, been in rain. Never had a issue with them as far as function except in dense fog. I have no complaints about the function, the glass just isn't that great.

Hit 1869 yds with my Fusions while bear hunting last weekend.

41
