Whats the favorite bolt knob and shape.

Wanting to change my bolt knob and make it easier to grab and cycle. The bolt knob on this rifle is kinda small and close to the rifle, I find myself brushing up against the scope and stock when I want to cycle quickly. Wanting the most popular mod for quickly working the bolt, I will be doing some competitions with this rifle in the near future and I want it to function flawlessly and efficiently. If you could give me a heads up on the most popular shape and were to get it from, I then could weld it on myself as well as shape the rod holding the knob. I have been a welder (23 years)so metal is my playground. Once it's welded, I will send it to "coyotekiller" to get it teflon coated....He did this rifle and the pictures don't do it justice......Thanks for your help...SmokeRolls

The big round Savage and the original Badger.

Both are aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.

Kampfeld Customs has a nice selection. I have always used the Badger. Other than that, I have nothing to compare to.

I have a tear drop shape one now its ok i prefer the BO style better.i am going to send my original bolt handle off and have a bo style installed on it.Savage by the way.

This is what I have on my rifle currently.

Knob

Its a hard phelonic plastic. I have turned a few different styles out of aluminum and steel but I like that one best. It is pretty solid, and has a brass thread insert. Hell for $1.36 you cant beat it.

Is there any bolt that is like the Badger M2008 bolt handle that is actually for a stock Remington action?

I like the badger as well.

i also really like AZ precisions phoenix knob, considering getting that on my rifle. i dont know if its any bigger than the one you have now though

I like HateCa's new style knob, and I also have Keith's Marksman (more like the prototype for it) on another rifle.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I think I'm gonna pass on the plastic knobs due to my preference for steel. ( I want that sucker on there for good as in welded.) I'll check them out. Thanks guys.........SmokeRolls
