Remedial training.
Would you like to have been shitcanned from every job youve had that you made a mistake at? Muchless, a mistake that was most likely caused, at least in part, by the HUGE FUCKING STRESS of the situation she was thrown into?
Buncha tough guys whove never been on a two way range always know the anwswers.
"IMO" </div></div>
Dont you think that thats a bit more than "just a mistake"? Shes carrying a weapon capable of killing people at distance? Dont you think that she/they should be accountable for their carelessness? What happens if she receives nothing, does it again and someone dies? Im suggesting that, in her condition, that shes unfit to be there in a professional role. If a civilian makes a "mistake" with a weapon, they are punished.
LEOs arent making pizzas for a living (Im aware that you know that), are must be held to a higher standard because the stakes are higher. Pro gun people teach that guns are just tools, and are not dangerous when we know how to handle them. This person doesnt "get a pass" just because shes a cop. If shes unsafe, she doesnt belong there.
Tough guys who have never been on a two way range is an immature, irrelevant kneejerk response. The fact that I have never been shot at, doesnt make my point less true. I can still judge what I see logically. I think you are showing bias. I could respond just as you did, by insulting you with some "tough guy because he a cop" statement, but thats just ignorance in trying to intimidate someone into thinking my point is more valid.
I know people who have been fired due to carelessness, that could have resulted in people or property damage. Each instance should be judged for what it is, and a officer who has no knowledge of her weapon, doesnt belong there, and those that put her there should be held accountable.
