Maggie’s What's Your View II

I saw something I haven’t in a while around here. My quail are starting to show their faces again

That figures haha. Never been to WI in my life, but we're lined up to go next week to see my father in law. Was hoping for a weather break, but I just checked... Same as Ga. My luck
Yep, supposed to stay toasty here for a while yet. Where are you headed in WI?

Lol I was going to but the road crew boss didn’t have his orange vest on. Big no no 😂.
I don’t think the saw even got warmed up to cut that big old growth out of the road 😆

Stopped by the machine shop to check out the progress on the 455 for the 66 Oldsmobile.
Heads are ported, crank is balanced, pistons are in, heads are installed and the porting and matching of the intake is in the works.

Heads flow nearly 400 CFM. The cam is fairly mild for this build. I am looking for 450 to 475 hp and 450 torque. I want to keep it very streetable for the woman.

Thats what that Ford has a roof for. 😁

Get a tactical shooting blanket like @tnichols uses in the cold to keep from burning skin on that hot black paint. And keep from unnecessary scratches.

or make a “barricade” that uses the post holes on the side of the truck bed?

jealous of the ease of access to a good shooting spot...

Funny thing about WI, it’s illegal to shoot from a vehicle and I tend to have them drive by me quite a lot out at this spot. Someone is reporting the shooting and they always check out to see what’s going on.

I get it during hunting season to keep the tards from chasing whitetails with an AR out the window (yes I have seen it, but with a $75 SKS and combloc surplus ammo).

but for target shooting??

stinks.

Stilts for Cash it is!! 😁
And keep him away from my daughter! 😆😆

🤷🏻‍♂️ When we’re on our property shooting short range in the way back, we’ll shoot off the truck, but at the farm, we try to avoid it. Should build a shooting platform for my little trailer to go over the bench🤔

Not to be a boat anchor, but here is where I'm at today. (This is in my office).

Regularly referenced when stupid shit shows up.

And a little bit before that I was driving down the street and saw the front end of this wagon with the hood open. I rolled down the window and asked if I could take a look.
A 65 Impala wagon, factory 4 speed, with AC, electric windows and.......a factory 409. Dude has the original window sticker and numbers match.

Hiked up to Camp Muir today. Beautiful day on an awesome mountain. At about 8000’ a fairly fresh set of tracks crossed the uphill trail. Let me know what you guys think it was. Probably a bear but doesn’t look elongated enough? All about the same size, not discernible front/back feet. Roughly 6” wide x 7” long.
