When do you toss a barrel?

My XC barrel has dropped about 70fps from it's prime, but the accuracy is still decent. Is it time to get rid of it or can I add some more powder and get the speed back? Or am I just chasing my tail and by the time I get something figured out it will be cooked?

I'm in the same boat right now. My dasher barrel is starting to slow just a little at 2400 rds and I know the end is near, but it is still shooting great. Hate to give up on it when it is still shooting good but I have a new barrel waiting to go on. Might just finish it off with a bunch of practice in the next week or two and swap it

My .223 barrel on my DMR is the same way. Lost 70 fps but still very accurate. I tried increasing powder but accuracy was quickly lost.

It was doing great at a match yesterday with even a few cleans. Until the second to last stage where I got misses that should have been hits and unexplained POI shifts. Regretting not changing the barrel before season.

when you guys are saying the barrel is accurate, what distance are we talking? Are you shooting groups at 600 or 1000, or just 100y?

I toss mine when they start to go off call at 1000 yards. The first time it goes, it gets JB'd hard. If it continues after that, it's a tomatoes stake. It's very easy to see on NRA targets as we have good positions and very accurate instant feedback..

My last 260 barrel was a hummer. I mean br type groups constantly. The spring it all of a sudden lost 80 DP's. I pulled it. It still shot extremely well but I knew it would completely give up on my at the least opportune time

I cold bored 1100 on a full size ipsc last week before the match this weekend and was only about .1 mil low. Mine has only lost about 40fps though.
