When does it become Vintage?

I don't think there is a 'cutoff' here. But most of what folks look at here is a generation or two removed from state-of-the-art and extends all the way back to... whenever.

Sorry for fuzzifying the muddification, but it's one of those 'know it when you see it' kinds of areas on SH.

Cheers,

Sirhr

What defines Vintage? Why is the M40 vintage and not the M-24?

The optics and the stocks would be the biggest difference between the two rifles. A Leupold Mark 4 and an HS Precision stock are leaps and bounds beyond a Redfield Accurange 3-9x and a piece of walnut.

It's nice to know, I am vintage! So for an M-40 to be Vintage it needs to be in a wooden stock?
