When Grip Strength is Everything

I don't know anything about hang gliding, but I can't imagine there's no preflight that he failed to do. As far as I'm concerned his failure to make an emergency landing after take off would have been murder. There were plenty of spots he could have crash landed. Instead he chose to extend the flight for minutes (felt like hours just watching it) to hit the usual landing site, which to me turns gross negligence into premeditated murder.

That was WAY to long of a ride. Seriously. I honestly can't imagine what the hell level of all wholly terror was going through that poor bastards head, but geezus kristo, he had a literal death grip going. Man I hate heights...........

Staged or both the pilot and passenger were complete idiots.

The passenger is clueless, as are 99.9999% of them. If they're not rated as a pilot, they go with whatever you tell them. It's YOUR job, as pilot in command, to inform the pax of what's happening and what they should/should not do. It's also YOUR job, as PIC, to ensure your pax are strapped in. As the article states, the pilot stands to lose his license, and rightfully so!
