No,some times you get a reply from some one as inteligent as you are but they will post a link to the place where they found the same information when they looked for it. You posted a link to the whole book, thanks for your time but I've already been there.
I looked at the ATF site long enough to say fuck it I'll call them and ask em but since it's Sunday I decided to try the upstanding shooters at the hide.
Cool thing about a site like this is you can take the information you get or you can leave it right here where you found it, if you are smart enough to sort out the good info from the bull shit.

Let's make this simple.
1st, read the rules on the ATF website. It's there for a reason.
2nd, call the ATF to confirm.
3rd, work under that assumption that if you make something that attaches to the muzzle of your firearm, and that something reduces the decibel level at all, you're gonna go to to Federal prison for a long ass time if you haven't gotten the proper approval first.
If you make this thing, and then you find out it reduces sound levels, your up a creek.
Louder = OK. Same = OK. Quieter = Shower rape.

So instead of practicing some patience and waiting for one day, you come on the internet seeking legal advice?! That is not very smart.... you can land yourself in federal prison for a min of 10 years plus fines.
Then when we point you in the right direction you call it bullshit and want us to spoon feed you all of the info that we have to look up to provide to you. Do some damn research man!
Pick up the phone and call them. I wouldn't risk my freedoms to some half assed answer I got off a forum one night.
