I zeroed the scope today at the range. I have both elevation and windage set. I know now I can set the zero stop for elevation and when I put the dust cap back on I align it with the zero mark on the scope body.

??do I do the same thing with the windage dust cap, align the turret Zero with the zero on scope body??

The grease on the inner portion can make it difficult to remove. make sure you pull it straight out without disturbing the current alignment to avoid changing settings. When installing, you may encounter resistance from the grease and almost seems like you are compressing air(actually, maybe because of the grease sealing it in) Press firmly and straight inward and it should seat properly. Re-tighten the screws and you should be good. My guess is that you don't have it seated properly.

what he said, you should feel that o-ring seal, the fact that your not feeling any clicks means it isn't seated correctly or deep enough.

Whitenup,

IIRC you should not have to remove the windage knob. If you loosen it the dial should spin freely. Also on the Elevation knob when seating you may have to start a bit off center and work the dial back and forth to get it to seat properly. If you look on the exposed turret you will see some slight nicks where the set screws meet the metal so the elevation knob should not turn as long as you loosen the set screws out enough.

Never had issues with setting either knob on either of my 2 NF scopes to zero....follow the directions! What thing I did a bit different ...maybe...when setting my zero stop I went 2 MOA below my 100 zero....I wanted a bit of room to fine tune.

makes sense to give yourself a little room. I guess it is better then resetting the zero stop if you change your loads etc.
