Where are all the 11.5-12.5 Barrels

I'm guilty of not paying attention to the market apparently. Just pulled a receiver out of the safe to build a new short barrel fun gun and imagine my surprise when I can't find a Faxon barrel anywhere. There is nothing in the $150-175 range to be had. Thin pickings out there. Might have to switch gears and build something longer.

Rosco and sons of liberty gunwerks. I dont have either but everything I hear about both is positive. They focus more on combat style barrels but still get good accuracy.

I'll second Rosco. I have an 11.5 barrel from them, and, no they aren't super accurate. In my opinion, that's not the top priority of a barrel that short. It is a handy gun that is my go to in the house, and for close up range drills.

Dont know where you are at but with everything going on in the USA from the quarantine to the riots people are buying up gun stuff left and right. Mostly affects complete firearms because the majority buying guns right now are first time gun buyers but the AR parts market has been hit too.

12.5" TriArc with mid length gas is a very smooth shooter and decently accurate.

Got lucky and found some Ballistic Advantage barrels in stock. These lengths are out of stock everywhere. I hate using optics planet but needed to get this build done and they had 20 on hand.

I’ve never understood the 11.5-12.5 barrel length personally. Either get the handling benefits of single digit lengths or get the ballistics benefits of carbine + lengths. I think it’s a perspective thing: do you see middle ground solutions as doing everything a little or doing nothing particularly well? I’m disposed to the latter.

Any short barrel that will shoot 1/2 MOA at 100 is better than most people can shoot a short barrel.

Doesn't seem like you have shot them all.
Many believe you have to pay 4-500 to get a barrel that will shoot 1/2 MOA and many believe a 4-$500 barrel will make them a better shooter but that is not true.
Then again most are using red dots and cheap surplus ammo too. I am one of those, if it is a shorter rifle I use red dots or 1-6x scopes and fmj ammo. I'm not trying to use a short barrel to shoot little groups off the bench except when I test the barrels.

Midway has some XM193 and M855 as well as freedom 75gr and a few selections of IMI... they are the best I have found amd are not inflating the prices nearly as much as everywhere else.

You can also find some hornady critical defense 9mm if you sign up for their notification... although I have yet to see the .223 critical defense in stock in at least a month.

Ballistic advantage has a blem sale last week got a 11” performance series for 164$ shipped it came with gas block was looking for a quality 12.5 for awhile then a fella was selling a 12.5 noveske barreled upper here picked that up, spent more than I wanted to but it’s very nice and worth what I bought. You might check m4carbine forums might get lucky there
