I was wondering if there was a specific place you had to mount the rings base onto the rail? Or is it just wherever you can get the money front to back play ( eye relief )
sorry, yea jsut whereever you can get proper eye relief and not have the bell toucing anything under it... also try to stay away from being right on a mating edge of the housing...I.E. be somewhere on the tupe 1/4 inch from any other angled edge... as for fwd/aft slop, tighten them down at full fwd on the slot.
My ring placement is based on (in order of priority)
1. Proper eye relief
2. Front ring OVER the receiver...not on the overhanging part of the rail.
3. Rings as far apart as possible
4. Rings directly over the rail/receiver screws
5. Rings not blocking other desired rail accessories such as sin/cosin indicator or bubble level.
