Where to find surplus Vector 21 laser rangefinder?

Hello all. I have been searching for a while now and can not figure out a way to get my hands on a surplus Vector 21 laser rangefinder.

Within the USMC they are serialized. To the best of my knowledge this means a marine must return the item to inventory after signing for it. No one has been able to tell me what happens to these devices once the military is thru using them.

I have been searching the U.S. Govt liquidation sites but haven't had any luck. I can't figure out how to properly search those sites without knowing the govt's serial number for the item I'm looking for.

Any help by members of this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Thanks very much. I saw that deal. I believe they're all gone now. I'm really looking for a surplus one because my funds are extremely limited. Can't even do the deal that was listed here by Mr. Trapp. Thanks Lowlight

Any of these that are military are DX'd if repair is not possible. You won't find a 'Mil-surplus' unit, there is simply no such thing. The last set I saw sold was actually stolen mil property on EBay, when CID or NCIS comes by, you lose them AND the money. The ones I got were actually new, just old stock. It was a freight claim due to a misrouted trailer, the insurance paid and they became property of the freight agent. That's not likely to ever happen again.

I do sometimes get refurbished demo units, normally 1500's or IV's, which are far more than enough for any individual. When that happens, I'll post here first.

Sorry, Cory; what is DX'd? Thanks

"Direct Exchange"

It means if you have a broken piece of gear, you take it to whoever issued it or whoever fixes it and he gives you a new, working piece of gear.
