So I've got a rifle with a stainless break.

    ...it needs to be blackened.

Where can I send this part for Teflon, nitrile, or whatever the most durable coating will be?

Blackicecoatings.com. Lee is the owner. Salt Lake City, UT. He does great work.

Anyone know what the "ion" coating the Larue uses on their barrels is?

(Thanks by the way, I will call Lee.)

If it's ionbond, it's basically a variation of melonite.

Who would you send something to for that process?

Get it ceracoted, so much better than teflon.

    Have it Cerakoted.

Does just the brake need to be coated? Or the barrel AND brake?

If just the brake, remember the shoulder cant(well shouldnt I guess) get a build up finish on it.

    It's just a muzzle break.

I guess I must be lucky when it comes to using Teflon. I got a 375H and H Magnum with about six or 700 rounds through it and I've never had a problem with the Teflon coated barrel.

So does the other process we've a smooth easy to clean finish?
