I have an older Mausingfiekd that did not come dlc coated. Close to 15000 rounds on it now, and who knows how many bolt cycles. The bolt and action were cerakoted originally and it was still very smooth. I think action is starting to wear some because it no longer has the same smooth feel. And it doesnt feel near as nice as the newer DLC coated action/bolts?

so, where can I send bolt for a nice slick wear resistant coating? I'd prefer not to do the action, because it is cerakoted in a camo pattern. Which coating is best, that wont add thickness? turn around time?

Robar Guns. Their NP3 coating is the only coating I use on anything. The drastic difference between cleaning time and lube needed is amazing. Unlike NB, I have never had a fitment issue after coating. I've used them all in search of mitigating the issues found with high volume ARs and 1911s. NP3 answered it for me. It's one of if not the only thing I have found in the firearms industry that comes close to preforming as they advertise. Hope this helps.

I had a bolt done by robar, their gunsmith lost my ejector spring and replaced it with another. It wouldn’t even go over my case. I figured out what went wrong, called them on it, their guy never admitted it. Wasn’t a big deal, but special order spring because it was a weatherby. Coating is nice, gets better with time as it smooths out.

Robar seems like good people, products seem legit, but my experience wasn’t great. I am local to them as well.
