Rifle Scopes Which Badger Rings?

I have a Remington 700 that has a Badger steel 20moa base and i need rings. I currently have a 1inch tube scope with a 40mm lens. So i would either need a pair of rings that come with the 1in inserts or get a pair and buy the inserts. The inserts alone are like $36 dollars. I am going to upgrade to a 30mm scope in the future with most likely be a 50mm lens. Will both of these rings work with a 50mm lens also? So this is what i have narrowed it down to.

Check out the sticky at the beginning of this section on measuring.

You don't give any specifics on your rifle (action length & barrel contour). One of my rifles is a Sendero 7mm RM w/ 20 MOA Badger base with a Leupold 4.5-14x50mm AO 1" tube. Rings are Badger med-high with inserts - clearance and ocular height is perfect. Hope this helps.

You could go with TPS steel rings in 1" then just sell them and get badger 30mm when you are ready to upgrade your scope.

30mm Badger Mediums work good with a 50mm objective on my Rem700 LA. Get those and some reducers if you do plan on going to 30mm tube/50mm objective. It will be high with the 1"/40mm but it's better than too low when you switch to the 30/50mm.

If you aren't switching real soon just get dedicated 1" rings and watch the used sales section here for your future rings/gear

Place your rifle in a padded vice, grab a handful of penny's make 2 stacks penny's on the scope base toward and aft place the scope on the stack, remove penny's until you find the proper height measure and order.
