What powder charges should I try next? Certainly nothing over 42gr. I was thinking 41.3, 41.6, 41.8…or just try another powder. I have a lot of 4895 though. There seems to be a POI shift at 42 which could be problematic at 41.7. I

41.5 - 41.9 ( higher sd numbers but I love the way it shoots and the mv for me it's my load of choice .) no idea how it will shoot for you best of luck .

41.5 has been a go to load for many high power competitors. I would work in that charge adjusting coal and trying different primers until you get what you want.

41 gr, 41.2 gr, 41.4 gr, 41.6 gr, 41.8 gr, 42 gr
I do this sort of round robin and wait about 1 minute between trigger squeezes. For example, first set I will go in order from A to F, clean the barrel, then next round I will go in order starting with B clean the barrel, then C clean the barrel, then D clean the barrel. I do this with the bullet just kissing the lands. I have my target spot marked for each load...only A grains are shot at the A spot.

You MIGHT see a tighter pattern emerge. Of course, some of that MIGHT be you. Do your best to take the shooter out of the equation.

If you do find a tighter pattern emerge, load up different seating depths. Start with the bullets just kissing the lands and move away 2 thousandths of an inch at a time. You are very, very likely to see a difference. Once you do, go back and do a charge weight test again. In my experience, about 75% of the time, the charge weight I found on the first go is still the best one but not always.

Once I find this combination that is performing on paper, I shoot over the magnetospeed for shits and giggles and start developing DOPE.

If that's 100 yards there isn't anything I'm seeing with those groups that would indicate testing inside the powder charges already shot that I would waste time on. If going down to 40 and 40.5 does not significantly tighten those groups up, it's time to try a different powder or bullet.
