I am headed to San diego in a couple of weeks and was hoping to just use a carry on. I have a gunslinger and an operator pack. With either work or will I have to carry the gunslinger?

I use the Phantom. I have tucked in the lower scabbard and carried away and I have also unzipped the drag bag portion and carried it on like that.

The Gunslinger is a bit smaller then the Phantom so I am sure you can tuck the bottom up and carry away!!

Happy hunting!!

depends on what plane you are flying. If I load up a Phantom with the scabbard attached then it will only fit the big jets...737 size. It will not fit in one of those little jets that seat two on one side and one on the other...it will have to get checked. usually not a big deal as they will do it right at the gate.

If you don't stuff it then the Phantom will fit on both...it will be tight but it will fit. I don't fill the side pockets...just the main compartment.

The Gunslinger is smaller so it should be good to go.

Northwest, and Delta puddle jumpers make me put my Gunslinger in the belly, as your walking on. Its a crap shoot, I have been able to put it in the overhead, but its about 50/50. That still beats checking it though.
