Which geissele trigger is POF using in the P308?

Just got my P308, it's got the geissele and it's running around 3/15 to 4/2 1st stage and an even 5 to 5/3 on second stage. It breaks like an icicle but it heavier than I like. Just want to know which trigger it is before I go to adjusting on it.

I don't think it matters as long as it's an adjustable one, and it is by the diagrams, but I'd like to know which they're using.

My first rifle to come with a geissele, so far I love it. It's smooth and crisp just like it should be.

Thanks.

Went out to the truck and got the rifle and it's not an adjustable trigger after all. Best I can tell from their diagrams is that it's a "super semi-auto" or a "super semi-auto enhanced", both non-adjustable.

Congrats on the new POF. If you don't mind my asking, from whom did you get the rifle and how much did you pay? I'm in the market for another POF 308.

Sounds like the SSA (which is what they usually run when they install Geiselles).

If you like a lighter trigger you really should just order the Match unit from Geiselle. I LOVE mine. I have it stiff enough that I won't pop off unexpected under stressful stuff, and it feels much lighter than my guage says (2lb 1st, hammer falls at just under 3.5lb)

My 20" POF 308 came with the Timney Trigger. It is a good crisp trigger system but a tad heavy for this gun. I took it out and put it in a different AR I have. I put in a two stage Rock River Arms match trigger. I have several of them and really like how they work. $89.95 at wwww.topgunsupply.com

I run RRA NM triggers in my carbines and they are great triggers, esp for the money. Its hard to beleve they are 4.5lb triggers.

Geiselle Match adjustables are a definite step above them though and are all I will run in the Creedmoor I shoot comps with. Mine is set so that once the first stage is in, it breaks as cleanly and nicely as the Jewell's I run on my boltguns.

I have a Hi-Speed NM Service Rifle trigger, an SSA, an SD-E, and an SD-3 (the last two are brand new and Midway USA exclusive at the moment). The SSA-E (don't have this one but it is like a 1 lb lighter SSA) and SD-E are right around the 3.5lb mark and cheaper than the Hi-Speed adjustable trigger. I haven't had a chance to run the SD-3 yet but it's not really a two-stage trigger anyway.

The Hi-Speed is definitely a better trigger than the SSA, but it's a lot more expensive and the adjustment screws could theoretically work loose.

The SD-E is non-adjustable like the SSA but has less overtravel and a much shorter reset than the SSA. The break is a little crisper but they're pretty similar. I can't see buying another Hi-Speed for anything except maybe a totally accuracy-oriented precision match role. Even then the SD-C/SD-E series is very close.

Beyond just the feel of the trigger, one of the best features of the Geissele triggers, and why the match triggers are called "Hi-Speed," is that they have a very short lock time (time from sear release to cartridge ignition) compared to other AR triggers (in fact, the Hi-Speed triggers have less than half the lock time of a GI AR trigger).

High Speed National Match - Match trigger in mine. Best trigger I have ever had! Mine breaks at around 2.5 lbs. I spent around $270 but absolutely no buyers remorse here!

Cool. Glad they are getting out there a little more. They were midway USA only at release and the geissele website still says that. They are great triggers.

And Bill G is one of the nicest guys you could ever talk to....

I always wanted to know how to pronounce it, then I picked up the phone one day and heard "Hi Steve, this is Bill <span style="font-style: italic">Guys-Lee</span>" for those that are wondering.

Yeah, I learned the much harder and more embarassing way. I was shooting a service rifle leg match down in MS and was walking down to the pits with a Distinguished/Pres 100 friend of mine and this other shooter. We were discussing triggers and how I was wanting to pick up a Geissele for my next unit. I had been pronouncing it like Gazelle. About the 300 yard line....after quite a bit of discussion and me saying this numerous times.....the other shooter says that he thinks it is "guys-lee". I said "really, I didnt think so. I have always heard it the other way. How do you know?" "Because that's me."

Great guy, good shooter, very nice trigger. I have 2 on order right now. I have used their High Speed Service Rifle trigger for CMP matches and it is great- better that my tuned RRA 2 stage. I currently have a SSA-E on the way for my POF/APA SBR and a High Speed Match DMR for the new GAP-10.
