I have a garmin 60csx but no maps on it. Just bought it off a hide member. Should I jus do a software update on it or sell it and get a 62 or the Montana? The montana is huge but pricey...what is everyone using?

Re: Which gps?

Just load the maps and go. The 62 might be a little faster but I don't thinks it would be enough to make a difference in normal use. You can get maps for free from GPS File Depot that's what I did when I bought my 60CSx about a year ago; been GTG ever since. You made a good purchase, no need to second-guess yourself.

Garmin 530HCX. I bought the program MapSource and downloaded the states I needed onto a small SD card. If I go to a different state I can just put that state on the card and remove the previous one.

</div></div> I use the same website for my Garmin maps. Superb quality and the vast majority are my favorite price... FREE. Agree on keeping the one the OP has too, great unit.

Re: Which gps?

We have a Garmin 2555LM that we use on trips and stuff occasionally and we love it. It was not the cheapest thing for sure and I did a lot of research before buying it and despite some bad review we went with it and never looked back. I love it. The only thing I can say is to get yourself a good case for it and do not leave it in the car.

FWIW: while I agree with getting a good case (mine resides in a EMDOM Molle GPS Pouch) I've left my G60CSx in my work truck 24-7-365 here in NEOH since I purchased it without any issues.

Re: Which gps?

I would load up some maps and try it out. If you don't like it I would suggest getting a Garmin 62st. With lithium AA's mine will last a very long time. I'm rather pleased with its abilities.

Re: Which gps?

I like my Delorme, it took a little while to get the mapping software figured out. To be honest with ya it was kind of a pita to figure it out but it's all good now. I like having my GPS with me but I really like having my Delorme gazateer wih me. It's so much easier to navigate on paper and seeing the full overall of the map without having to mess with the tiny screen on the GPS. When I have cell service google maps is boss, especially with a good paper map. Remember though, nothing beats a compas and a map.
