Which group would you take?

Shot these 2 groups with my 700 SPSS 308 today(100yds.) with well, you can see the recipe on the target, I like the idea that the right target had one 3 shot group at about 1/4" and the other 2 shots thru the same hole, group size is 11/16" & 3/4", respectively. Lapua brass on left, Win brass on right.

Load on left had an avg of 2737 & SD of 8, load on right, 2695 and SD of 17.

I would take the left group and start playing with Seating Depth.

3 shot groups mean nothing when you still have two out. A single group also does not mean anything, could be just you having a good moment of statistics running in your favor for a change. Try several sessions with the same load and then look at the average group sizes.

+1 I like th looks of a nice group. 3 into one is nice but fishy when the other 2 are off to the side.

I will agree with 6Dasher on this one. Test the loads fully and don't be afraid to shoot and log lots of groups.

I like that the right group has less vertical dispersion. But at 100yds it's hard to say if it's the load or not.

I would play around with the load on the left, slightly better velocity and SD. Play around with seating depth, possibly neck tension. But it looks to me like you are in the ball park of hitting your rifles sweet spot.

I'd like to see several more groups from each load to determine if the variation is likely induced by the ammo, or the shooter. The 46gr load might be really accurate, but suffered from poor trigger control on behalf of the operator.
