There are a lot of these units to choose from I am currently looking at the 2500NV is this a good one for use with ballistic calculators it seems to give me tthe data I need

IIRC, the 4000/4500 models will calculate density altitude for you, and you can go directly to your trajectory tables. I'd opt for one of these models if you're going to purchase a Kestrel.

Kestrel 4200 works slick for me, using DA, Temp, RH and wind speed.
It seems simple if thats what your looking for..

yeah 4000 or 4500 seems to be the go to Kestrel I seen a 4000 on arfcom I think today.
