Which Kestrel?

I'm trying to figure out if I should get the 4000NV or 4500NV. I do not have ballistic software so... is one better than another for my situation?

Have you checked out the Brunton ADC pro? It does all you need for longrange doping needs.

I have the 4500NV and really like it. The only issue I have had is after it has been on for say 5min 1/2 of the screen seems to fade away?? If I start it back up it works fine.
The 4500nv has done everything I have ever needed it to.
Wind and Altimeter are very sensitive.

if you dont need the bluetooth or Horus then the 4500 will serve you well. The others offer options though.
