So I was 100% set on a savage hog hunter with plans for new stock, dbm, etc, but then my LGS informed me they will be stocking Tikka shortly. They said if there's a model I'd like, let them know. First step is; which models do they export to the us?

If I could build a rifle it'd have: 18"-20" chambered in 308, threaded barrel, varmint or light varmint countour, with DBM. Is there any close to that?

The T3 Lite is readily available in a variety of calibers the varmints and tactical models are limited to 308, 260 and 223 I think. EuroOptic is a great place to shop for and purchase a Tikka give them a call they are very knowledgeable about the Finnish jewels.

Be on the lookout for what Twist rate you can get also!

When I tried getting a .233 Tikka a few weeks back, we could only get a 1:10 twist from Berretta. Was on the phone with them for hours trying to figure out if we can get anything else but after going through three different reps, we could only get a Lite or Variment in 1:10...

    Just ask before buying!

Luckily I'm in the market for 308 and I can make 1-10,1-11, or 1-12 work, so that's not a concern... Thank you for the tip though!

The T3 Tactical should suit your needs. Threaded med-heavy barrel. 1 in 11 twist.

I have a T3 Lite in 208 and a T3 Tactical in 223. Both are nice to carry hunting and very accurate.
