Rifle Scopes Which of these 3 scopes would you recommend?

Hello All,

I am new here and need some advice on some glass. This is going on a Custom Remington 700. The maximum distance would be 600 yards, most of the shots will take place at 300 yards.

I narrowed it down to these 3:

1. Burris Fullfield 2 Tac30 6.5-20x50mm Ballistic Mildot Reticle.

2. Leupold Mark 2 6-18x40mm T1 Mildot.

3. Bushnell 4200 6-24x50mm Tactical with Mildot reticle.

Advice / comments / experience is greatly appreciated.

Seems like some very powerful magnification choices for shooting 3-600 yds. Are you hunting or shooting targets?

as said, that is an awful lot of magnification.
But, any of those scopes would do fine.
I would probably put them in this order:
Burris
Bushnell
leupold

All of them are good low cost scopes that will do the job.

I agree that is a lot of power for 600yds.

They no longer make the MARK 2 the renamed to the Mark AR. I really like the Leupold Mark AR especially for the price.

I thought the Mark AR was a seperate line than the Mark 2.

I've used Leupold's and have always found them to be very good quality in the price range they're in. For the yardage you're talking, I'd go with the Leupold from the three choices you listed.

Targets only, I don't want to limit my self. As of right now, I don't see my self shooting @ 800 - 1000 yards anytime soon. I am going to start @ 300 then move to 600 once I feel comfortable.

Tough choice, Bushnell by a hair, you'll be good as long as you don't need service.

Leupold.........they can give the reticle and knobs you want and their warranty leaves you with a working scope for life....if it goes down they pretty much replace it ASAP. Derek

Between these three I would say Elite 4200, and by quite a bit more than a hair.

Burris Tac 30 is just a run of the mill FFII shoved into a 30mm tube. It competes well against Elite 3200, but is not in the same class as Elite 4200.

Leupold Mark AR/ Mark 2 is pretty much VX-II with tall knobs and more aggressive marketing.

Elite 4200 is a pretty decent scope for the money. A good competitor for it (as someone mentioned above) is Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 or 6.5-20x50.

That having been said, I'd probably be looking for something with a little less magnification, but YMMV.

Thank you for all the replies, I found a local shop that has the Burris and Bushnell. I am going to check them out tomorrow and go from there.
