I'm in the process of upgrading the hogue stock that came with my SPS AAC. I've seen a lot of comments and reviews about it flexing. So, which stock will be a good all around stock? Something that I can also use for hunting. I really like AICS stock and handled one but it's quite heavy and may not be suitable shooting from the shoulder. Thanks!

I am in your boat I built my 700 sps aac,etc... around AICS, and all the normal add ons and there is no way I am getting in either one of my 4 stands on my section I have for deer. I ended up buying savage axis and doing a bed job on the stock it came with (stainless rods and epoxy) polished trigger down to 3.25lbs, and polished bolt to get almost as easy to lift as a 700.

I had a B&C Medalist, H&S, etc... once you start stacking on all the things that will firm up the gun and create a more balanced platform it seems weight just increases...I'm sure someone can fine tune down something for you, but I just bit the bullet and my $300 axis worked just fine this season and lol I thought for some reason when I got in my first stand it was the one with the solid floor ... first thing I did was drop the axis straight into marsh.

Basically gun for meat and gun for fun!

More to the point... You haven't actually experienced negative results that you can attribute to the stock. At least you did not say that you have. Rather, you read some reports on the Internet a out what may be a problem in your gun. Ask yourself what your realistic expectations are for a hunting rifle over the ranges that you shoot. For most people, 2 moa is better than needed for deer sized game. You don't need to stack 5 shots on a dime, but merely put one shot into the lungs/heart. My guess is that your factory rifle is precise enough to shoot heart sized groups at a few hundred yards, and lung sized groups at any range you are likely to shoot.

Manners MCS-T . Great balance of hunting and tactical stock.

McMillan game scout. A-style grip, toned down forearm and available with adjustable cheek now. Mine wear ptg bottom units. About 700ish and a long wait... Also have an aics- find the change back and forth is fine. The b&c ltr stock (butt hook) also seems pretty nice for a bunch less. Have one out getting inlet for the ptg bottom right now. Not to blocky on the front, light and stiff. In and out of that for @400 including inlet and bottom metal.
