Rifle Scopes Which spotting scope for out to 600?

Re: Which spotting scope for out to 600?

This must have already been discussed to death here. Do a search and see.
I am looking at Swarovski HD with angled eye piece. Maybe one of the new Nikon ED glass Digiscopes.
Best one I ever looked thru is sold by Hudisco, an advertiser on this forum. The Ziess military version and it costs about $5,000.

Re: Which spotting scope for out to 600?

I have a Leupold 12-40 HD, works great to 400, pretty good to 500, and leaves me wanting at 600+. Got a great deal on it from SWFA (used). Since I'm still working up to 600+, so I'm still really happy with it. Once I start spending more time longer, it may need replacing. And I will most likely go back to SWFA for another used lens when that time comes.

Check these out too...Zeiss 65T* FL. I run fixed eye pieces in this one. Really good spotter.

PGS,

I have the same setup and it works great for me...very useful...not too heavy or cumbersome for packing around...crystal clear glass...good FOV...and readily available used at fair prices...all IMHO of course

Check out the Brunto eterna 80mm. I posted the results of a comparison between it an a Swaro non HD scope a week or so ago. It should be easy to find. (on the phone right now so can't paste the link). The Brunton seems to be optically equal (or real damn close) to the swaro. It sells for $790.

I use the nikon 20-60x82 prostaff at 600 and can see 50 and 30 cal but not 223. Wish I went with the fieldscope so i could use my SLR camera. Only pic I had of it.

Re: Which spotting scope for out to 600?

I have the Nikon 15x30 fieldscope with ED glass and am having a hard time seeing .30 cal holes on white paper at 500yds. I am working out to 800yds next week and was wondering if any spotting scope under $700. will allow me to see .308 holes at 800yds?
