Which Tier1 AR15 Gas Block for Recce?

I took my AR15 Recce rifle apart to send the upper/lower, barrel, trigger guard and comp to HDC to be cerakoted FDE. I had to heat up the 2 set screws on the gas block to get the gas block off because it was installed with Red loctite. I ended getting the gas block off but the set screws are pretty stripped. I dont know who makes the gas block and can't find replacement set screws which isn't that big of a deal.

I'm going to replace the gas block with a new one and I'm not sure which one to get. Here is my current rifle parts list. Should I go with an adjustable gas block? I do plan to add a suppressor in the near future. Needs to fit under my Alpha rail.

Thinking of going with:

Syrac Ordnance Gen II Click-Adjustable Gas Block
JP Enterprises Adjustable Low Profile Gas Block Standard Barrel .750" Inside Diameter

AeroPrecision Upper/lower
WOA SS Match 16" 1:7, .750 Gas block seat
TSD Kompressor
Troy 13" Free Float Handguard
Timney AR Competition 3lb trigger
UBR Stock
JP Buffer Spring
BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle
Hogue Grip
BADASS Ambi Safety Selector
Diamondhead BUIS
ADM AD-Recon 30mm QD Mount
Leupold MR/T Mark4 1.5-5x20 CM-R2

Check out the SLR Rifleworks Sentry 7 gas blocks. They're under 2 ounces, very easy to adjust and return audible and tactile clicks for every adjustment made. I'm very happy with mine.

MicroMOA also makes a quality GB that requires no tools to adjust to the preset gas port sizes. Either two or three position adjustment options.

Syrac Ord has a a great rep as well. I have no personal experience with them however do couldn't comment on their durability/performance.

Yes, as pictured below, our patented tool less gas blocks works fine under a Troy rail with no tools. Just push the regulator plate with a bullet or whatever.

Below is a picture from a customer of a VTAC Alpha rail and showing that even a 300 BLK round isn't too big to push the plate.

Picture below shows some of the regulator plates options and the modular design of the block. With this design, you have a quantitative idea of your port sizes since it is based on actual holes VS obstructing the gas with the tip of a set screw.

With this design, you can know in complete darkness by feel as to what setting the gas regulator is in vs guessing with a set screw design.

I have four Syracs. Work like a charm. If you go that route you wont be disappointed either. I like the Govnah for standard loads, but I don't see how you can tune them to a particular load or for handloads?

I ended up going with the Syrac Ordnance Gen II .750 adjustable low profile gas block. I had a MidwayUSA coupon code so I got it at a great price. Everything I've read stated Syrac is a high quality block.

Using different loads is like using special weight carriers, buffers or springs. That is what the custom plates are for, you drill them out to whatever works for your specific configuration. As an example we have an LE agency that uses the right position for Simunitions which also doubles as an adverse position. Left is for duty ammo while middle is suppressed.

We have a lot of people running them for 300BLK builds that handload and that is where you see a lot of variations but again it is not a problem. You would just need to drill it out to match your configuration. It definitely takes more time and effort on the initial setup than a set screw design but once it is done you have the benefit of not guessing what position the gas is in, being able to know in complete darkness by feel, have a quantifiable idea of your port sizing and no tools to adjust.

Thanks!
