EBI is important because I’m looking at rural use, prefer not to use a lot of IR, other than while actively shooting.

The price difference isn’t significant compared with the cost of the units. I’m willing to buy once cry once if the aviation units are better, I definitely want the best performance in mixed environments with a lean towards rural starlight.

If cosmetics are all equal I’d probably go with the 18UM on specs alone. Especially if there is a premium for the 24ua. I don’t think you’d notice the small increase in fom. I think you’d notice the decrease in EBI during extremely dark circumstances.

That being said, ask about fixed pattern noise in the tubes and the cosmetics.
