I wanted the 10s of the vulture with the blem in the color, but it appears they are all gone. So now I need to decide out of the 8.5 or the 12. I am gonna go ahead and order and not let them get gone this time.

I have experience with all 3 of those powers, 12x is difficult to hold steady, 10x is slightly difficult to hold steady, it requires a firm stable positioning, 8.5 is the most comfortable to use, especially if your glassing for any lenght of time. The difference in view between 8.5x & 10x is minimal, it's a toss up really, with slight advantage going to 8.5x for reasons of comfortable viewing.

Just my humble opinion.

I reckon I am retarded. I swear I could not find them anywhere, then I did a search for reviews of the other 2 powers and seen a link for them, clicked it, there they were! Thanks Doug, I will be ordering soon.

I agree with this, but my Nikon Monarch ATB's in 12x42 that I just purchased does not show the "shakes" too bad, although I'm not glassing a monster buck either... I've used them for extended periods without eye fatigue or discomfort, so I'd go for the higher power if you can, and yes, you can always rig up something to assist in keeping the binos still. I would rather have the extra magnification, than worry about the seeing the shakes - that problem can easily be fixed in the field, or where ever you are using them.
