Looking for someone other than HSP to have a limbsaver or pachmayr pad installed on my 5R stocks. I know HSP charges $150 for that- which seems obnoxiously high given the cost of their stocks.

Re: Who does limbsaver install on HS Precision stock?

If $150 isn't really very high, someone please advise me- I'll either try it myself or abandon the idea.

Also, which pad is better?

Re: Who does limbsaver install on HS Precision stock?

I do a lot of pachmayr. I charge $80 for the install plus what ever the pad cost and the shipping back. so it comes out to around $150.

Bigdaddy- thanks.

I don't intend on staying with the HSP stock forever and I know what it's value is, so the $150 price tag is a tough one to swallow. Looks like I may give it a shot on my own or just live with it until I replace the stock

Re: Who does limbsaver install on HS Precision stock?

The reason that runs 150.00 is because the factory h-s recoil pad are glued on to the stock. So you cut it off and then have to install some kind of backing to screw the new pad on to, then lay new pad on scribe it, then grind it and then screw it on. BTW those limb savers are very soft and are a pain in the ass to grind. Pachmeyers decelerators are pretty soft and easier to grind. Good luck with your project.
