who here is from Sneads Ferry?

Not good. What is fitting punishment for these men, if/when convicted.

I think punishment is in the article.

Seems they were busted in rankl, did some time than were given Bad Conducts.

Two Lance Corporals and Two Corporals doesnt seem those ranks would be badged MARSOC guys unless they were real over achievers and if they were they blew it.

Lance Criminals at their finest?

Pretty ballsy. Had a guy in my command get short on cash and took all his gear to a local pawn shop for the money. And then another Marines he “burrowed”...

Didn’t end too well for him

It's true, and I get that. That IS what punishment that they got/received. What I was asking though, is what ya'll thought would be a "fitting" punishment. As I'm sure that there are differing opinions.

Obviously I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm not clear as to why a flashlight would be ruled under ITARd laws. Nor am I clear as to why they're going for ~$200.00 each. It's a flashlight, isn't it?

But the way these guys (seemed) to be grabbing and hawking anything that wasn't nailed down is definitely a point. And that is the direction in which my question was aimed.

Sounds like they were box kickers to start with, or at least one of them were, they had way too much access to everything. These sorts of theft rings are broken up regularly, and it's almost always involving someone who works inside the warehouse. This shit would occur far less if the UCMJ allowed for more financially punitive punishments than simply taking their pay, at least to the level of regular federal court sentences where they are actually responsible for the cost of the amount of shit they stole and their federal return will reflect the same for the rest of their days.

Fitting punishment would at least be a whole lot more brig time than what they got. Keep in mind for every one to two days in the brig with good behavior, one day is knocked off the sentence so realistically they only serve half to two thirds of their sentence anyhow. The brig is a joke, more daycare than punishment, another facet of the US mil that was overrun by Mothers of America and the PC crowd. Unfortunately, an old school ass whooping for this sort of shit only preempts judicial punishment, so it's better to let them face the court martial and get the boot while having to live with a punitive discharge the rest of their lives.

You are behind the times on flashlight technology. My EDC is a 1000 lumen light that will run for 25-30 min on that setting.
It has a 5 lumen setting (think candle power) supposed to run almost 40days straight on that setting.
Also has a 300, 500,750 setting. It is not much bigger than a bic lighter.

The one I carry in my truck goes up to 3500 lumens. It has 200, 800, 1500, 2000 settings also.

I will say 1000 lumes is enough to cause a little pain and temp blindness. I do not dare to look at the 3500 or fuck with anyone and shine it in their eyes as a joke.
That one is about as long as a beer can, smaller in diameter though.

Both have SOS feature also.

Wow, sounds like GWB's "Nuke-U-Lar" powered technology. Thanks for the breakdown. So, end result though is that the US thinks that nobody else in the world should have flashlight ability? (referring to the ITARd laws)

I dont know the lumens, but I got 5 of them delivered to my home for $17. High Quality, waterproof, and they run on 1 AAA battery, have bright, dim, and SOS and will light the 175 mtr distant treeline at the rear of my property enough that you could easily spot a small/medium animal. Havent time tested one but they give quite a few hours per AAA. Google flashights...Except for hitting someone I have no use for the old Maglites.

Surefire lights are works of machined aluminum art.

Sure China has plenty of Grizzly lathes to push similar out but Id rather pay a bit to support an American and get a quality piece of gear.

@Sean the Nailer unsure if all Surefire lights are ITAR but Id guess ones that are specifically weapons lights might be. Most of them have IP intended for mil-spec (which China steals) as well as the weapon intended useage.

You got a receipt?
If not, I’d delete this post:oops:

Surefire sources some parts (LED's mostly) from foreign factories.
@Sean the Nailer that is the messed up part, parts or entire flashlights are imported and then never supposed to leave. I doubt O-light or Fenix are ITAR but it is possible.

Surefire I had once was the toughest light I have ever owned. But I assume because of the golden goose government contracts they are not up on technology either. They were slow to adopt LEDs years ago and there battery life was not so good. They could be better now, it has been 10 years for me.
