2. So those asshole politicians can one day point out how evil gun owners are for not following laws that make people safer

I don't think there's many cops interested in risking a shoot out over a magazine ban. We have one in Colorado and I've never even heard of a story where it was used. I sure as shit wouldn't raid somebody's home over it, both on principle and common sense. Why risk getting shot over a magazine? That's stupid.

Now if some dirtbag drug dealer, wife beater, rapist, etc. has one, add it to the list of charges cause fuck them, but leave Joe Citizen alone.

This is all driven towards a national high cap magazine ban. They are moving that way one step at a time. If they enforce this law I hope they get shot to shit.
It amazes me that people know the cops are coming for them and they just wait for the police to show up at their door. Law enforcement has been lucky to not have people that know they are in the crosshairs go after the police head on and not wait on them to show up at their door.

Oh please.....? My best friend is a sgt LEO. And when I say best friend I mean he is like a brother to me. I spend much more time defending cops, that criticizing them.

I agree that the laws a written are written by morons but there is also a thing called the Constitution and discretion in enforcement.

Who was stopping out of state hunters that resulted in the National Firearm Transpoation act.

Who was it gathering up guns during Katrina.

Funny how cops can “stand down” during riots , destruction of cities , violent lefist protests but suggesting a mass stand down on unconstitutional guns laws is somehow attacking cops.

If you look at the demographics supporting cops, vs. BLMatters etc calling for cops heads you’ll see that actually the gun crowd is largely law &order and supportive of LEO.

This really isn't that difficult of a concept. Pointing this out to LEO does nothing but educate them on who has their back out there and asking them to consider having ours.

You are thinking way too small. They want all our guns. That is the goal. Then they will go for cops having guns. I know insane, unrealistic but remember these are Marxists Post Modernists.

That is true. That is how Marxists act. If you look at real life tyrannical/genocidal regimes and fictional examples like the ones in 1984 and Black Arrow, socialists will only trust a certain cadre of enforcers with actual guns. The regular run of the mill city patrolman is someone they will fear turning turncoat against them. They want fanatical diehards that they can order to their deaths if they need. In other words, the Waffen SS, NKVD, or Gestapo. Everybody else gets truncheons and maybe a flashlight if they really behave.

Any of you who are farm kids will recall how a blacksnake slowly moves to entrap a hen on the nest. It moves so slowly that the chicken simply ignores it. The snake keeps warm off the chickens heat and the chicken continues to ignore the snake. Then the snake squeezes the chicken to death and eats it. It has no chance to get away. It never even puts up a fight.

Your timeline is overly optimistic, they are not going to wait that long for their end game of Communism. Unless we make a change soon or something happens, I suspect the next generation will just simply swallow the propaganda and give up their last remaining rights to thunderous applause.

I suspect they will eventually "encourage" children, family & friends to rat you out just like they do with those vile "red flag" laws.
Want a better divorce settlement, full custody & extra money... no need to lie about abuse anymore, just rat out your husband for having an "Assault Rifle". Then it will change to any firearm, then to scary looking knives, then to slingshots and pointy kitchen knives.

There are many very conservative women in the Midwest. Not rare at all.

In Castro's Cuba, protest was limited to going out late at night and beating on a pot with a spoon to signify your displeasure with the regime. It was all they had and the "protesters" were shot if caught.

The left's hero Che was particularly fond of shooting people lined up against a wall.

Just like in Fahrenheit 451. No need to knock on doors or do section patrols. Wait for an alarm to be called in and then send the goons over with an APC.

Main question is...When this kind of shit really begins, how long will the populace just bend over and take it in the ass before raising the black flag and start killing these goons and taking the war over onto their turf? Or are they going to wait until the concentration camps are fully built?

That’s one reason I get such a kick out of the few on here that state how they have never been arrested like it’s a bragging right. If you’ve never, you should experience it now so your not surprised later on when the consequences will be higher..

That is why I have always said to people: Optimism is the biggest killer in mankind's history.

I have followed the situations in Cuba and Venezuela for quite some time and it is very clear that most of these folks over there have been subject to some of the worst depredations possible and have nothing else to lose. So why have they not started murdering the agents and enforcers of their oppressive regimes yet? True they do not have guns but they can use arrows or simply find a soldier coming home from a shift and crush his fucking brains out with a brick and walk away.

Tyrannical regimes do not care about peaceful protestors. It is another thing when every day, several members of the regime's enforcers are found dangling from bridges with their eyeballs gouged out and their dicks and balls cut off and sewn into their mouths. I am sure Maduro would not be sitting in Caracas so smugly when a handful of his men turn up dead and mutilated every day. There are a lot of guys who live in the wilderness of that country and are good at woodcraft. If they can get a few guys good with bows, they can just shoot the govt. motherfuckers and take their guns.

They are starving to death while their government hoards all the food and their children are dying from easily treatable fevers. What else are they waiting for? Are they still hoping that "it will get better soon"? To hell with that...If I had to watch a beloved child die in front of my eyes because the government refused to give food to it's people, scumbags are going to be thrust down shallow holes every night and day until they kill me or I die from starvation myself.

Optimism is even more lethal than cancer.

I went through basic with a Cuban national. They spend one day a week from school age learning like the national guard do here. If they were smart they would organize and take over their armory on a range day when they are given live rounds

Hell yeah good for you friend! (y) I got an audiobook version all ready to go on my laptop. As soon as I finish The Forever War by Joe Haldeman, that one is going to be the next on my listening list. I was going to listen to the Foundation series, by Isaac Asimov while I do my writing, but this thread has got me wanting for a refresher of that other golden piece of literature.

I read that 40...I mean a few...years ago. Probably time for me to read it again, even though I still remember quite vividly some of the passages from that book.

Sometimes I wonder if this isn't how the fall of Rome transpired (2000 years difference notwithstanding). There are more than a few great people that have chronicled and forecast how all great civilizations progress, no matter how diligently set up and well intentioned. Apparently humans will be as humans are and no manner of well intentioned dogma or iron will seems to slow the eventual ending of the best that man can construct. I truly wish (and hope) that it were/is not so, but my gut warns me that things will progress towards decay no matter the efforts of those that see it coming and try, for the sake of all, to turn the tide.

To the turning of the tide, my brothers, to the turning...

I’d recommend getting the full 3 volume set, 70 bucks on amazon if I recall. The abridged version, from what I understand is missing a lot of Solzhenitsyn’s annotations. Like the one I have quoted above is an annotation.

Edit; as a side note this is a very difficult read (for my backwoods education, that is) for several reasons, the darkness if the content is one reason. The second is the way Russian seems to translate to English. It’s very understandable just has a distinct structure to it. Second is this was written for a Russian audience living in Soviet Russia, some research on some topics and people may be needed (depending on your knowledge of Soviet Russia). Don’t let this dissuade you, it’s well worth the read.
