The classic book "Atlas Shrugged" has been made into a movie. If you're not familiar with the book, it's a novel written in 1957 about rampant socialism and the final result. It's eerily prophetic of the situation today. It's one of the most inspiring and enlightening books I've ever read.

It's just been made into a film, but (no surprise here) it's an independent film. No way the weenies in Hollywood would ever touch a story this powerful. If you'd like to see it in a theater in your area, you have to go to the website and request it. It took me 1 minute.

Seriously, it's important. If you value your freedom and the American dream, you owe it to yourself to read the book or see the film.

Re: Who is John Galt?

Great read - would recommend the book before the movie. I am looking forward to seeing the movie (prob on DVD) but I really cant imagine how you take a book with that much in it into a movie. A miniseries ala Lonesome Dove maybe, but a movie? It has to loose a lot in the translation.

I cant imagine a more relevant book for today's economic situation. Seems like it should have been written last week.

I vehemently agree with Rand's economic theory, but think she misjudges Christianity- she misses the key thing that makes Christianity different from every other belief in the world, but I guess that is a discussion for another forum.

Careful reading that book, it could get you in trouble. (Don't know about the movie).

The problem with the book is after reading it it makes you want to go out and slap the stuppid out of a bunch of people.
